Plaice Cove, a private beach in Hampton, NH. This is where I remember playing in the sand as a young girl – the giant mansions sprawled tight and massive against the narrow shoreline.
This is where my heart first began to worship the beach. My mother, brother and I would frequent this beautiful spot, climbing the giant rocks, hunting for sea-glass, wading in the tide pools, and making giant sand castles. Oh, the salt-covered memories!
My favorite thing about the beach is not the smell or the sound of the sand in my toes (all which are very nice), but the one true fact: no matter what footprints are made or sand is displaced, the tide will always clear the slate and it will become new again. Life is a lot like the beach and tides, each new day we wake up and it is a chance to start again, fresh.
