Everyone always talks about “rolling” your clothes to make more room, but is this method effective in saving space? I put it to the test with my new luggage and recent trip to NYC!
Earlier this week I purchased a new sleek and stylish luggage piece from TJ Maxx, which is a bit smaller than I usually travel with. Everyone knew about my old girl “Big Bertha,” the red beauty whom got her name from being large, in charge and somewhat unwieldy. I decided to downsize and try to do more with less.
Packing was honestly more fun with the rolling method! My main concern (as an incredulous Type A) would have been if the clothing got wrinkled, however I tend to iron everything anyway because I like a fresh-pressed look. All in all, I was able to fit MORE in my luggage than I thought possible.
In my medium-sized luggage, I was able to fit: 3 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of dress pants, 1 rain coat, 1 set of pajamas, 4 tops, 2 dresses, 1 clutch, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 makeup/toiletry case, 1 flat iron, 2 sweaters, 1 vest and 3 light jackets. Plenty of options for my work-cation.
All in all, I highly recommend this method, it is a must for anyone who travels!
