I have traveled quite a bit in my day, and on the heels on my recent New York City adventure, I decided to share a few essentials to take when visiting a bustling metropolis:
Large Tote: Since you are likely walking or taking public transit, it might not be wise to stop back to the hotel for things, so pack what you need in a handy tote. In my bag I kept an extra pair of shoes, my wallet, and sunglasses.
Comfy Shoes: Let’s be honest, as much women pretend to love heels, most hurt our darn feet! I suggest some comfy shoes that are stylish but won’t leave you crippled with blisters. You can wear your walking shoes and pack heels (in yo’ tote bag), then pop them on at the destination.
Scarf: Pack it, wear it, just don’t forget it! A scarf can be a umbrella, pillow, hat, blanket and fashion statement all in one little, trendy package. This lifesaver will also add a nice pop of color to your outfit.
Shades: Always have ’em handy. I enjoy the mirrored ones so I can covertly people watch! Make sure you put them “from face to case” so they don’t get scratched or broken.
Cab Fare: I love walking, but sometimes you need to get there, and fast! There is no shame in using Uber or a cab to get from place to place. Most, if not all, take credit/debit cards.
I’d love to hear what else you guys bring with you? Anything I missed?
