Delete All: Starting Fresh With Instagram

With over 1,300 posts, starting from when I first joined the Instagram community in 2011, I was ready for a massive clean out. Due to limitations, Instagram will only let you delete one photo at a time and only fifty with an app – tedious! I decided to start fresh and delete my entire account. And yes, I backed up all my existing photos, twice. And yes, there is an app for that!

I am the kind of woman who isn’t afraid of change, I enjoy things being new and starting from scratch. Looking at my old Instagram feed, I was all over the road. Pics of babies, fashion, friends, dogs, etc. Starting this blog, I decided to intentionally have a purpose with my IG account and make it more about photography/lifestyle, rather than a chronological photo journal – not that I don’t love me some babies!

Instagram FeedMy strategy is to only upload my most prized (and beautiful) photos, which work together to create a cohesive experience. I am also exclusively using the ‘Gingham’ filter to give the feed a more streamlined look. I reviewed some of my other favorite IG accounts and it appears this is the winning recipe for success. Granted, I am not looking for millions of followers, but I do want it to be something I am personally proud of as a human, a marketer, and a blogger.

What do you guys think of my new Instagram setup? As a blogger, are there any other tips/best practices you use for your social media accounts? Please share!

This is a great idea! I also love what you have done with your instagram. I am thinking of starting over as well, and I had a question. Once you delete your account, are you still able to keep the name etc when you sign up again?
